I really waited until the last minute to get my smog check and renew my registration. I originally planned to go to another smog test center on La Brea across from the DMV (so I could go there afterward) but when they told me it would be an hour wait to get the smog test, I checked google maps on my phone to see if there were any other smog test places nearby with no wait. I called A-1 Smog Check and they were nice enough to match the other company's coupon and see me right away. The best part was the tip they gave me to renew my registration at a AAA to save time. I've been a member with AAA for years and didn't know they provided DMV registration services. I drove to the AAA not more than a mile away and had my registration sticker and paperwork 10 minutes later. Between my trip to A-1 and AAA, I figure I saved myself two hours of wait time.
