Ugh, Again? It seems like every year one of my vehicles is due for a smog..... So after receiving that yearly reminder to pay my vehicle registration, I see that I'm also due for a smog. I conveniently forget about it for about 2 months, then I find it again in a pile of papers. Crap! It's overdue! I drive my 1990 4Runner down to the 76, half way optimistic that it may pass, but this sucker is 20 years old so I cross my fingers. I drop it off at about 3pm, I get a call around 3:30 that my finger crossing did no good, smog FAIL. The mechanic was very thorough in explaining my vehicle's problem, and quoted me about 300 bucks to fix it. Left with no choice, I agree to the service and am told it will be ready tomorrow. Fast forward an hour, I get another call that my truck is ready. On top of being ready early, my bill was only 77 bucks and he retested the smog at no charge. PASS!Yay for honest, friendly mechanics. I will return come next smog season.

This gas/service station is under new management.  It shows.  I tried this service station because it was very close to my house.  It was the first time I feel that I wasn't taken advantage of for my lack of auto knowledge.  It cost quite a lot to fix my truck, but not nearly as much as I had been quoted at a previous place.  I feel that the mechanic was honest and very knowledgeable.  As soon as I told him the symptoms, he knew right away what was going on and explained it to me well.  He finished the job on time, too.  I will be going back.
