My cheap a** called around EVERYWHERE in Ktown and found this place has the best price. $45 exactly- that's including tax! But wait, it gets even better. THEY OFFER DMV SERVICES HERE!!! Yes, you heard right. That means no more waiting in the looong lines at the DMV and you can do all of your registration, renewals, title transfers, and duplicate titles & stickers here. Whoohoo!!!
Didn't really care where i went in for smog check until i checked out Choi Smog Test Center. I mean, as long as it gets done right? WRONG!! I can't help but compare my experience here and elsewhere. I'm completely satisfied every time i visit, because the job gets done right the FIRST time. It's quick, and hassle free, and most of all it seems to be cheaper than other places with better quality of service. It's a bonus that they have such great customer service and also have wi-fi to keep me occupied while i wait for my car.
I hadn't needed to get a smog check in some time but I remember the last place I went. I could barely understand the guy and he didn't make me feel hospitable. LA is full of these places.Choi's is great. He has what appears to be his son working for him and helping him. They were really nice and made a huge effort to make sure I was relaxed. I was offered some Korean candy and some water while I waited. The price is $45 out the door, which is better than most places in greater LA. He's located in a KTown auto complex with two other shops. The complex can get a little crowded but you can just park in front of some of the cars in front of his shop. They look like the auto repair place parks them there. The whole experience at Choi's was painless and they tried to be quite helpful, asking if I had AAA and pointing me to the nearest AAA location if I wanted to get my registration done there. As others have pointed out, they also offer some DMV services there for a fee. I'm sure those services would be helpful to some who don't have AAA or want to deal with going to the DMV.
It's always easy to get in and out, and very clean, Very professional and polite service. I was done in ten minutes Best Smog Check in Town!
