I moved to San Diego about a year ago and, although D&R is not close to where I live, they had been recommended to me by a friend.  My engine light was on and I had knocked the back of my rear view mirror off, which needed to be replaced (normally a body shop job, but they fixed it, no problem).  The staff is amazing - from the front desk to the mechanics.  I had my car back in about two hours (enough time to have lunch) and the price was fair.  The diagnostic showed that one of the cylinders was misfiring periodically but nothing that I needed to panic about.  They did not recommend additional diagnostics.  They advised me to just keep an eye on it and if the engine light stayed on perhaps bring it in for a tune up.  To date, all is well.I will not hesitate to take my car to D&R for all my future auto care needs.  Oh, and they send regular reminders about servicing, which is really convenient.  Overall, it's the best auto repair shop I have ever used.Not sure what the problem was with the earlier negative review, but that certainly was not my experience.  The staff is courteous and very professional.

Dave and Rick have been my auto repair guys for the last 27 yrs. They are very honest and professional. I only take my car to these guys. My kids go to them as well. Thanks a lot guys for always being there.Kathy

Took my car here when it started to do scary things - turned out the transmission was going. Booo. :( They didn't do the work there, but referred me to a wonderful shop that took care of everything for me, and then they handled a few other things I needed done. They were very professional and friendly, and were very willing to explain what they were doing. The price they quoted was exactly what the final price came out to, and they made a stressful situation much easier on me. Great experience, I would go back again.
