Equal parts of laziness and a busy schedule I decided to have my oil changed by a professional this time around. Jiffy Lube is seconds from my house but thought twice after reading the reviews on here and remembered a recent not-so-fun experience from a relative. Plus my father's business takes all his vehicles to Econo Lube for upkeep. This place was quick; I didn't even get out of my car! They checked all fluids, tire-pressure, and what-nots. $45 at the end of the 10 minutes. YAY.
This place is meh in my opinion.Came here for an oil change a few weeks ago. The garage itself is just a bit creepy, and I don't really know how good of a job they do. They finished in about 3 minutes so that was a little concerning. I've heard that a lot of quick lube places just suck the old oil out of the top of the engine, which is bad because the sediments stay on the bottom. Don't know if they did that or used the proper method which is unscrewing the drain plug nut on the bottom of the car and letting the oil drain that way.Awesome customer service though, they were all pretty nice.I probably won't be coming back unless I can make sure they use the proper method.
I went there for a quick oil change. you don't have to get out of your car to get it done and only took me about less than 10 minutes which is pretty good for time saving. total came out to be $30 which is pretty average but they did check the tire pressure and wiper blades and other stuff too.
I'm impress by their service when I got my oil change done. There was actually a few employees doing the usual check ups, tire pressure, other fluids, winshield and also gave recommendations which made me very comfortable. the price was great for what they did.
Still pretty damn fast and average pricing. I can usually come here on a Saturday afternoon and not expect a wait. The only downside is I don't think they do any type of inspection on your car - they do check your car supposedly, but most of the time, I get a check mark on the write-up and get sent on my way. Update: Came here June 2011 - paid about $34 out the door for an oil change on standard 4 cylinder vehicle. Service is fast - barely got out of my car before the guy came and took my keys. However, I'm beginning to wonder about the $5 off coupon that's posted on the website. The lady rung me up and afterwards I inquired about the $5 off. She said she gives everyone the $5 off and my write-up already included the discount. Doesn't giving everyone the same discount no longer make it a special? It's not really a coupon deal if everyone across the board gets this "special" price. I couldn't really complain, but something about this does not sit well with me.
I went here to get my oil change recently and I must say...This is by far the fastest oil change service Ive gotten! Youre in and out! Price is very reasonable too!
I came here to get an oil change, and then also asked them to check out the other fluids, and key parts since the car sits a lot and hasn't been serviced recently...They had me out within 10 minutes, and also let me know that everything looked fine but the fan belt has some cracks in it, and then that the tire pressure was too low, and one tire has some cracks around the rim that might be a concern.I got a price quote for the fan belt, but they didn't try to push me to get it replaced right then.Very nice, efficient service.
Fast , efficient, friendly service. Charges very reasonably for their prompt service. Oil change is a breeze at a speedy 10 mins tops (during off-peak hours). Ask for Diane when you're there for specials. She'll take care of you. Definitely a place to check out (even when you're just shopping around for prices). But let me tell you, their prices are hard to beat. Combined with the quality of service, nearly impossible!
Now I get what everybody's raving about! I pulled in here, parked my car and said I wanted an oil change for a high mileage car. They directed me to pull my car round to the front. I didn't even have to get out of my car. They just did it all right there while I sat and chatted away with my friend. It was about $30 for the oil change and I didn't even have to leave my car to pay! They just took my card, ran it, and brought over the paper work to sign. Their service couldn't be faster unless the technicians strapped themselves to the underneath of your car while you drove around!
Went today over lunch. No muss, no fuss. Nice, efficient mechanics. I was in and out in 15 minutes. No one tried to sell oil plugs, more expensive oils and add-ons which is my experience w/ other 'drive-thru' type oil places. I was also pleasantly surprised w/ the price. Even w/out coupons it was the cheapest oil change I have had in years. No frills and fast is perfect for an oil change 'experience'. No capuccinno's and soft drinks offered, but who cares? Super convenient, will definitely come back!
Question: In the context of an oil change is it possible for human beings to be nicer than the folks at econolube fremont? They have set the bar seriously high: as in stratospheric. My Audi is a bit troublesome when it comes to oil changes because of the skid plate underneath the car that has to be removed to drain the oil. Some lube places just look at the skid plate and say "no thanks, see you later." These guys dealt with the skid place and all its little foibles, checked all my fluids, air in the tires, inspected the windshield wiper blades, etc etc, all the while being extremely polite and helpful. At one point the guy checking the fluids took a rag and gently wiped down the engine cover. It was just a very touching moment considering the fact that the entire engine compartment was grimy, as was the rag, as was the guy himself (well, he's an auto mechanic after all) and so the wipe down was purely symbolic. You had me at that wipe down, econolube! My oil change business is yours forever.

Great service and the best standard price I can find. They are very quick. I stay in the car while they work. One of my friends drops his car off and comes back later. I have used them for years, and they even know what a wankle engine is.
