This place can be difficult to locate as you're driving down Valley Blvd & if you haven't been there before you can easily pass it up two or three times before you zero in on it. It's not a "stand alone" place, rather you turn into a driveway on the south side of the street and go through a metal fence & Martin's garage is set back a little ways off the street. It doesn't look like much (though in my experience, the best automotive places don't) and even I felt a little skeptical at first, but Martin was very pleasant & professional. Not only did he do the smog test, he also helped point out what & where the possible causes were for a few other minor car problems I'd been experiencing. He did the routine checks (oil, coolant, tire pressure, etc) & thank God he did! Despite having changed it not long ago, my oil was nearly dry (I was right there & he let me check the dipstick myself...sure enough). I bought two quarts fr him and put that in. Either it's burning oil really fast, or I have a slow leak, either way, I wasn't getting an oil light & his having checked likely saved me from destroying my engine. It cost $50 for the smog test (which is totally reasonable), & he submits it to the DMV online right away. I'd recommend Martin's to a friend.
