yay! another great job by Jeff and the guys over at Palmer Tire & Repair. we don't live in town anymore, but whenever we're back in the Los Angeles area, we bring the car into Jeff for maintenance, tires, etc. his prices are great (beat Costco by a few hundred dollars on new tires), he's relatively fast and friendly. i think some people may be put off by his volume, but he's a good guy - always cracking jokes and trying to give you a good deal.he also notices little things while he's working on your car and lets you know about them, but without the pressure of making you feel guilty and like you have to take care of it right away. in fact, this last time we went in, he took care of a few small issues for free. we've never waited there while maintenance was being done, we usually walk down the street to Antigua Bakery for breakfast, so i can't say much about that experience. though i wouldn't think that would be too exciting sitting in the little waiting room with nothing but Oprah magazines to read. it always surprises me how many Oprah magazines they have piled up on their little coffee table.

I read about this place online and the honesty of this place is absolutely true! So I've been coming to Palmers for a couple of years now and Jeff the owner has been up front and honest from the get go... Reasonable prices but the honesty and quality of work keeps me coming back! Highly recommend to those who don't know anything about cars either cause Jeff will steer you in the right direction without costing a dime...

Jeff is awesome and one of the few mechanics out there that isn't trying to rip you off. He's honest and will try to help you and your car, definitely going back in the future!

I've been going to Jeff for years. He knows his stuff cold, and his crew is great. I've never had a bad experience. Best kept secret in Highland Park, and if you're not local, it's right off the 110.

Alright...I've been here a couple times and I have to say there are definitely good things and bad things about the service.Good1. You'll get a fair price, know you won't get jipped, and Jeff seems to be really knowledgeable about cars which is great from a mechanic...Bad2. Jeff doesn't really make you feel welcomed at all and after the many times I've been there, I've waited for him for long periods of time with no explanation on my car....plus the smoking that comes in from the outside just makes it a regular car experience. I don't know. 3 stars seems fair--good prices, but bad customer service.

I love Palmer Auto... specifically Jeff who I frequently refer to as "my automotive husband", because he takes such good care of my car!  I first went to Jeff about 5 or 6 years ago when my 1996 Saturn wagon (my dream car) was diagnosed with terminal problems, according to the dealership who wanted thousands of dollars to fix it.  My actual husband kept telling me that my "American Made Car" was a piece of dookie and that I should get another car.  When I explained that I didn't want another car, I wanted my Saturn wagon, he suggested I take it in to Palmer auto and let them look at it.  So I did.I showed the dealer's list of woes to Jeff and he told me that they were overcharging me and trying to get me to fix things that didn't need it (shock!).  I turned my car over to Jeff and he fixed it for about a third of what the dealership wanted for the repairs.  Now, I'm over 180,000 miles and my car is in great shape.  Jeff sees to that!  When I ask him, do I have to start to worry about getting a new car yet?  He tells me that my car is a good car, with a good engine and it should take me well over 200,000.  I love it when he says that!!!  Plus, he believes it! If I ever do need to get another car, I'm going to get a used car, so that I can take it to the only repairmen I trust... Jeff (and the guys) at Palmer auto!!!!!

I have taken my car to Jeff and co. for a brake job, punctured tire and oil changes. Basic stuff, but I am car-illiterate. I would not hesitate to go to Jeff for major jobs. By coming here I avoid getting swindled by the dealer's service center. Every car owner knows how hard it is to find a trustworthy mechanic so I count myself lucky that these guys are right in my neighborhood.

Have been going to Jeff for many years...only now struck me to let others know just how honest and reliable he is (only now, it'll take longer for him to get to MY car). From the start, Jeff has been a funny guy and very straightforward as to what is what.  He has even given my family a few breaks on labor cost from time to time.We fully recommend Jeff and the staff at Palmer Tire & Auto Repair to anyone.

jeff sun is the best mechanic in town, period.  it's obviously subjective but this guy consistently goes out of his way to save people time and money, which is uncommon in this business.  he is fast, concise, accurate, fair, efficient and considerate.  not to mention he is one of my best neighborhood buddies.  as a result, he has incredibly loyal customers and great word of mouth.  i recommend him to everyone and won't go elsewhere unless i have to.

so, this place really does a great job. jeff is fast, reliable, and honest. when i give a place 5 stars, that usually means its just fantastic all around- service, prices, people, location, bathroom facility, free water, tv while u wait, plenty of magazines, everything. i just wish the oil change was less than $25 like my old shop (which was $17). yeah thats kinda unfair, but hey, im cheap. so jeff, if u lower your prices, ill give u a perfect score.

I almost hate to rate Jeff & Palmer Tire, only because I've gotten used to them being my "secret" mechanics. Truth is, there's no one else I'd recommend taking your car to.  I've been going there for years, with only great experiences.  The dealer wanted $700 to replace a part, Jeff got it done for $150.   Everyone I've referred to Jeff has been equally satisfied. Plus, his friendly and fun attitude makes this my top pick for local business. Reminds of me my dad, but I'm hispanic....

local auto repair. my wife says she might leave me for jeff (the owner) someday. he has been the best repairman we ever have had. when we recently replaced the air conditioning in my wifes car the bill was $300 over the quote because he couldn't use as many refurbished parts as he thought. he ended up selling us the parts at cost and we only paid $100 more than the quote.  very honest and reliable.
