I saw a bad review for this place and had to report it.  I have only brought my older German car here a couple of times but I came here on the advice of a long-trusted technician who recommended him as a guy who could do a better job tuning up by bug than he could. This guy is incredibly good, very reasonably priced, and quick on the turn-around.

This shop  is the best in SF. Awesome shop. I had work done at another shop (Auto Motion) $3,000. for a head gasket and oil leak that was a horrible experience and found out that the gasket leaks and the turbo misfunctions that AM had supposedly fixed were not fixed. My daughter told me about this shop and I took it there and was amazed at the fair price and wonderful customer service I got. I orginally took my car into other shop to get smogged cuz the engine lite wa on-this shop found the problem and fixed it, which the other shop did not do. I need more work plus body work and this will be the shop I trust and go to.

My dad can't drive his car anymore due to a medical condition but he just isn't quite ready to let it go yet.  It's been sitting in his driveway for about a year, lonely and undriven.  DMV registration is due this month so he asked me to help him out smogging it.  I went to Parkside Garage as it is literally around the corner and on the same block as my dads house.  The guys were friendly and nice and when I told them my dad's situation, instead of making me wait around, they offered to go get the car when they were ready and then return it to the driveway when done.  So done deal. I didn't know I should have told them that the battery was stone cold dead when I tried to start the car originally.  Apparently, this makes a difference with passing a smog test.......and thus, my dad's car didn't pass.  They told me not to stress, drive around 60 miles and bring it back for a re-do.  I did exactly that, and we did the same drill over again with the driveway situation.  And they were right......it passed. I don't know what is customary, but I do know that I only paid for 1 smog test.  The customer service was great and the guys were helpful and most of all, nice to my dad who is a little hard to understand.   I highly recommend Parkside Garage and give 5 stars for customer service and follow up!
