Quick and satisfactory service. The only thing I didn't like about it is that the price is quoted the same, with or without a coupon. I called ahead and I was quoted $50 for a smog check. I downloaded and printed off a coupon afterwards and was still charged $50 with it. Apparently, the original price is $60 and the coupon wasn't needed for the $10 off. I just wish he was clear on that before I went ahead with the service.
Quick, reasonable, convenient. I guess you could say this place had everything one could hope for at a smog shop.
Quick, inexpensive, honest, helpful, friendly.
I called on the phone and the guy said it would be $50 with a coupon. When I told him I didn't have a coupon, he said he would give it to me for that price anyway. It is located near the intersection of 30th and Adams. It only took like 10 or 15 minutes and I was out the door. Very nice man. I will go back.
These guys get the job done quickly and without fuss. I called beforehand to ask how long it would take, and their estimate of about 15 minutes per car was spot on. I was in and out of there within half an hour, and that was only because I had to wait for the person ahead of me to finish.Don't forget to visit their website and print out their monthly coupon (usually a $10 discount). I'll be back in two years for my next smog check.
I will always use SD Smog from now on. Dan is wonderful - he is quick, and was very helpful when I peppered him with questions. I could tell that he was an honest and caring businessman. My car failed the smog check, and he gave me recommendations and helped me with the next steps, rather than just ushering me off.
The other guy doesn't know what he is talking about. Once a "gross polluter" has been identified, by law it HAS to go to a SMOG ONLY test station to be certified (ostensibly after the necessary repairs have been made). They are recommended by Smitty's down the street on Adams, the most honest mechanics I've ever seen. (If you go to this SMOG ONLY station, tell them Smitty's sent you.)
