I like this place. All of these 20 minute oil change places will tell you what they recommend but this place doesn't pressure you into getting it done or else. At least with me they didn't. They gave me a heads up that my air filter was getting dirty and would need to be changed soon. No big deal. Oil change was $38 and I had a $5 off coupon. I will be back.

If I don't have the time to do my own oil change, then this is one of the few places that I do go to. There's a Jiffy Lube nearby, but I've always had so-so experiences there, plus this Speedee is operated by mainly Filipinos; always down to support my peoples.Depending on when you show up, service can vary. Regardless of wait, they do have magazines and a TV that you can enjoy while drinking a cup of coffee. A big negative about this place is that they always try to get you to purchase extra services. For example, the past few times I've been there, I've been told to get my coolant changed. Overall, I'd rather change my own oil or go to a particular place near my house, but if the weather sucks (like it currently is) then I'd go here.
I used this place for my oil changes and some regular maintenance for the 3 years I lived in SJ. Although the prices are a little higher than other places, they do turn it around very quick. I've never had to wait more than 30 minutes for an oil change. Sometimes they try to upsell you on some items that will eventually need replacing, but you can easily decline. They're not too forceful and I've dealt with several mechanics there. I also had my Dad check with his mechanic back east where this car was originally purchased and maintained and he didn't have any problems with the "extra" maintenance services they were trying to get me to let them do. They also performed my 90k service in 3-4 hours. If you go somewhere else, it might take several more hours. Maybe that's where the price premium comes in. I'm not sure what's happened to everyone else, but I've always been pleased with their fast and reliable service. The receptionists are always nice too. Minus a star for high prices...maybe 20% more than others depending on what you get done. Probably should be a 3.5, but I always got good service.
Can't believe I didn't review this place already. This is my mainstay oil change facility. Partially because I can't stand the other guys down the street but mostly because they do a fast and clean job of it. It would be nice if they did the other little extra's I've seen like vacume out the car, but hey, I'm in and out in minutes. I've seen a few coupons for these guys in the paper so just keep your eyes peeled for em on Sundays!
The "Spee-Dee"-ness of it varies, but on this day there was only one other customer getting his oil changed so it ended up being a brisk 20 minutes for my 17 point oil change.I go here every 5K miles or so to get my old reliable Corolla the oil change she needs. They usually discover something else wrong with my car and depending on my financial status, I will pay to fix the additional problem or let it be until next time. It seems suspicious that it's never a straight oil change but whatever. My car is still running and as long as it continues to get me from point A to B, I'm happy.It's $38, but with either the reminder postcard or the online coupon, you get a $5 discount.
I have used these guys a couple of times; mainly oil change & service on my wife's Volvo...they aren't too bad. The owner's son is excellent; he has moved on temp basis to a new opening of their work-shop...hope is is back soon. They did try to rip-off my wife on brake replacement pricing. As Volvo was cheaper on the parts...then they matched it.
