Lets be honest, how many times have you changed mechanics becuase well, lets face it they are expensive, and honestly, i never know what they are talking about..and every time i think i found a good one, something goes wrong..until now, Ive been coming here for about a year..and recieved nothing but outstanding service, really helpful pointers and tips and I am definatelly really excited that I have someone to call "my mechanic" Raul is awesome, and he is friendly and non shady and just gets the job done...i still dont understand what hes talking about sometimes, but mostly he is a good explainer about car troubles! Family owned and operated never felt so good in a city of such corporate overload! Thanks for always making me feel good that I can bring my car here!! If you want honest, dependable and reliable service for your car, I suggest you come see Raul!

I have used these guys for the past 10 years.  They are honest, friendly, great in price, and do incredible work.  I tried them when I lived in Hollywood and even after moving to Burbank, I still make the drive for everything service-wise for all my vehicles including simple things like oil changes.  Coming to the Sunfax guys, I had previously used chains (EZ Lube, Jiffy Lube, Pep-Boys) and EVERY time have had either some rip-off scheme put on me (changing estimates, the trademark "Your fuel injectors are dirty... we have a special today of cleaning them for $19.95" and then dumping a $1 bottle of fuel-injector cleaner into the gas tank)  AND/OR them braking my car:  Shift knob on the Jeep.  An engine sensor on the jeep.  Transmission on the Ford (by pushing their tranny fluid change and destroying the transmission for a poor college student - that was Jiffy Lube.)  I cannot say how happy I've been to change from that to an independent garage where the mechanics know you by name and they know your car as well.  I've turned about a dozen people to becoming Sunfax regulars and hopefully this will give them even more business.  (As long as I can still get time slots with them.)

I've been taking my cars to Sunfax Arco for general repairs and maintenance since moving to LA twelve years ago. They are a family owned business, honest, fairly priced, and they do great work. Two thumbs up.

I've gone to SunFax Arco for simple mechanical stuff for several different cars over the years. I really like the mechanics and the shop is small (read homey/small town feeling in the middle of Hollywood) and convenient. Their prices are fair. I've had them tell me my brakes were fine when I (and my boyfriend and my brother) knew they weren't, and took the car elsewhere to find that I did in fact need brakes. They aren't so good with electrical stuff either, but then who is? (Except maybe ElectroLeon) At least they tell you they aren't sure and offer to take a stab at it if you want them to.I'd still go to them though. They're usually pretty good and fast, and at least I trust them not to rip me off. I just need to have them show me what they're talking about and why I do or don't need something. It's pretty much like having your Dad's friend work on your car. It's right at Sunset and Fairfax (duh), so you can wander around while they work on your car. There's a Coffee Bean and a Baja Fresh next door, and a RiteAid and a breakfast place across the street. Or you could just get a dog and a coke in the Arco and sit out front watching Hollywood fuel up.
