I called/looked around and this was the best deal -- walked out the door for $37.20 which included the certification fee. Just be sure to tell them you'd like the $29.95 website deal when you pull up, otherwise they will quote you full price ($70+). I was gratefully in and out in around 10 minutes.
I think I had the best value of my money at this station. They quoted my 2008 Subaru Impreza at the rate of 59.99. I can see how tedious and meticulous job to crank up the rpm reader up to 2500rpm so these folks are doing great job as they are putting their life at the stakes. I understand that you can get a quote for 39 bucks as opposed to 59.99 however I like the convenience and customer service here so it is no brainer...
I have brought 5 cars here and these people are great! One car had a quirky problem that needed a mechanics attention - twice. They ended up smogging the car 3 times before it would pass. They refused to charge for the first two times - I give them 5 stars for being good and consciencious. Also, I have never waited more than 30 minutes - start to finish.
This is a small station down the street from the Claremont DMV. My boyfriend and I were in and out in 20 minutes and because we brought in 2 vehicles they charged us $49.95 each. The customer service person and mechanic were friendly, polite, and efficient and there was a steady stream of customers in and out of the place who seemed to be receiving excellent service as well. They are open M-F: 8am - 6pm and Sat: 9 am - 4 pm and they take appointments or drop-ins.
Now how have three people already reviewed this place? Will I ever get a first review? They quick and nice. I used the old, oh-I-had-a-coupon-at-home trick and they gave me the $30 coupon deal. I like that. Works every time.
I feel like the price was kinda high ($100 + $10 to electronically submit the result to the state), but other than that I have absolutely no complaints (and if I'd planned ahead I'm sure I could have found a coupon somewhere or gotten a price match, so I only have myself to blame). Great location, very fast, and -- best of all -- extremely friendly service. I took in a 92 prelude that had required timing repairs the last two times i got it smogged, but it passed with no problems this time so that was great. Overall, definitely recommended -- just try to find a coupon first.
