This place is awesome. He was very helpful and affordable compared to all these other goombas who charge $70+. I was charged a smooth $50. BAM!It is also conveniently located directly across the street from the DMV. I did a walk-in shortly before the DMV closed and he was able to get my car in, out, and passed just in time. Total time was around 20 minutes. Flippin' excellent service! WOOT!
When you got your last DMV vehicle renewal notice in the mail and it read across the top, SMOG TEST DUE AT A TEST ONLY STATION, you just jumped up and down, you were so excited? Riiiight . . . Competition is a beautiful thing, here in the great U. S. of A. and after calling a half dozen of the local Smog Test Only Stations that popped up on Google Maps nearby, I decided to drop by here in Fremont . . . Why?? Because one quick phone call got me an instant quote for $50.00 INCLUDING Smog Certificate . . . other places tried to tell me, "The REGULAR price Sir, is $98.00 plus certificate" . . . or prices ranging from $68 - $98, and one guy who thought I couldn't add. He said, "Only $39.95 here and when I questioned him several times on total cost it was always about $60.00. Since the Certificate is $8.75 there was something fishy in this quote - so I crossed him off of the possible list. Since I got a simple straight quote here, decided to stop by - BONUS - the DMV is directly across the street . . . the nice young man here did the smog test with no wasted time and had us out the door in 20 minutes with no BS. Worth a little drive for great no-nonsense service and value . . . and remember, THE DMV IS RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET . . . (Location Note: There is a lineup of shops from the street to the back of the property that stretches about 2 blocks. Most of them are auto repair places, but this shop is located ALL THE WAY in the BACK - the last shop away from the street. The sign is posted out at the front with Vanguard Smog showing, so you will know that you are at the right place.)
