Well, what can I say VIP Smog Center just offered me a VIP service. Got my car cleaned and tire replaced. Their staff seemed to know what they were doing and best of all the price was cost effective. Get your car smogged at VIP Smog Center.
One of the instructors at my dojo recommended Jack to me, and I trust his opinions so I gave him a try. I'm very glad that I did- I think a lot of mechanics would have taken a lot more time and charged a lot more to find the problem, which Jack identified just from my brief description. He not only made sure I felt safe about hanging around until the work was done, assuring my boyfriend that I would be okay there, (I get anxious easily, and he picked up on that,) but he also did a great job on my car... it's actually running better than it has in at least 5 years!"Did you notice how your gas pedal stuck?" he asked me. Why yes, yes I have noticed that for many years, and yet no mechanic had ever remarked upon this little fact before. Turns out my car was filthy inside, so filthy everything was getting clogged and gummed up, and they were amazed it was running at all. Now though? Now my car is so much more responsive, haha! Yeah, just go here.
Waited 40 minutes for them to exam my car only to found out that they haven't done anything. They said they will need to open up the door panel to take a look at what is really going on...that is what I thought they have been doing.... They said that it will take another 40 minutes to do that, so I told them to go ahead and do that and give me a call when they figured out what is going on. 2hrs later, still no call so I called them to see what is going on, and they told me it was done. Considering that taking the door panel off take less than 5 minutes; and I am guessing that it will take less than 10 minutes to figure out whether it is a regulator problem or not... Don't know. The price is right, and the people are nice, but the customer service could need some improvement. They should just have said leave your car in the begining and set the right epxectation instead of having me wait 40 minutes for them only to find out I have to go home and come back. They should have called when the job is done like they told me, instead of me calling them to find out what is going on. I guess bottom line is that they did fix the problem correctly on the first shot and the price is half that of the dealer, so I will return and give them another shot.
Great Place, first time customer I was, forgot my coupon but they still gave me the discount anyway. I had my car smogged and it failed. They found out the problem, and told me that it was just a hose that was disconnected. As soon as they connected it back, it passed. If they were not honest, they would have charged me an inspection fee of $89 but instead, I went home happy at $ 39.99 for my smog check. SO happy that I brought back my other car for an oil change for $ 28.88. All within 1 day and within a 30 minute time frame to finish each job. Great place to go. Bravo Jack and Victoria !
THE BEST. Frankly, I don't know much about cars. I know that when my engine starts to rattle, it's time to change the oil. I know to call AAA when a tire gets busted. I know that my car is washed twice a year, but really should be washed much more. I know to always head to VIP Smog Center to get my car serviced. I've been here to get my Smog Check (cheapest and quickest around), oil change, and brakes replaced, all within the last year. They've fixed my brake lights for free, too. Service is straightforward, friendly-- no manipulative intentions, no BS, as most car servicing places are often rife with. I feel comfortable as a customer, not maligned. I'll keep taking my little Jetta here until the time comes for me to head back to LA.
Jack is an Honest man and mechanic. I'm a good judge because my father was a mechanic. I've had him work on my cars, my wifes car, my daughters car and my sons car. Other mechanics charge more and can't always fix the problems. He doesn't even charge for all the extra's he does.
Darn good on the smog test. And quick. They did it in less than a half hour while I wandered around Bed Bath and Beyond. They were polite, quick, and reasonable.
I went here for a smog check. I had a coupon and paid around $40. I pulled up, was immediately greeted by one of the mechanics there, and waited less than 30 minutes for my car. Everyone from the mechanic to the lady behind the desk were nice and provided good customer service. A nice touch is in the waiting room (don't expect much, it is a car repair shop) were a couple baskets filled with magazines ... and not just car magazines, but fun magazines to read. Nice touch.There was one other man there who was waiting for his car to be repaired. It was clear this is where the man goes for any car issues. The mechanic knew him by name and they seemed to have a good relationship. I took that as a good sign as well for those of you who are looking for more than a smog check.
